“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and grace to help in time of need.”
(Hebrews 4:16 ESV)
“But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, ‘God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.'”
(James 4:6 ESV)
A dear friend gave me a rock she painted. On this rock it says “Gods grace to win the race.” This rock is laying on the sound table at church. Someone asked why I didn’t take it home. If I had taken it home, I would have put it in the cabinet with my other keepsakes and never look again it at unless I was cleaning them. By leaving it at church, I see it twice a week and am reminded how much God loves me. If it wasn’t for God’s grace, I couldn’t make it through the day.
God’s grace keeps me going. He keeps me centered with my eyes on Him. As I was researching this, I looked up grace. In Wikipedia it says,
“Grace in Christianity is the free and unmerited favor of God as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowing of blessings.”
Mercy-“Not getting what we deserve.” In God’s mercy, He forgave my sins.
Grace-“Getting what I could never deserve.” Through God’s grace, He saved me, adopted me and made me a co-heir with Jesus.
Isn’t that great? With mercy, He forgave me. With grace He made me His child.
That makes me feel so good to know I am a child of the king.
Have a blessed day.
