Decisions

“The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”

(Proverbs 16:9 ESV)

“The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way…”

(Psalm 37:23 ESV)

Have you ever done something less than smart? Ok, down right stupid? Yeah me too, more times than I can count. Every time I do something not so bright, I can see God with His head in His hands, “I can’t believe she did that again. Will she never learn?”

We all do it. We are not perfect. But we should learn from our mistakes.

But when I do something right, I can imagine God nudging Gabriel, “Did you see that? That’s my girl! I’m so proud of her.” Now days those days are more frequent that the not so bright choices I made. Oh, don’t get me wrong, I still make poor choices occasionally. God gave us free will. He lets us make our own decisions, good or bad. There are times when I feel free and am flowing freely in the spirit. But there are times when I feel like I am mired down and have hit a brick wall.

I was watching a show the other night. One of the characters made this statement: “Life doesn’t have dead ends unless you decide to quit moving forward.” Interesting statement. I got to thinking about it. How many times have I stopped moving forward? There have been times when I thought I was moving forward but actually I had started backing up. You can’t go forward in your walk if stop moving, if you stop growing.

God created us for a purpose. We all need to figure it out pretty quickly. Time is growing short. Jesus is coming soon. Have you fulfilled your calling? If you are still breathing, you haven’t. I really want to go heaven and hear, “Well done my good and faithful servant.” I don’t want to be told I missed my calling.

So what are you called to do? Do you know? If not, start praying about it, ask God. Then get started before the times is up.

Have a blessed day everyone.
