Don’t Believe the Lies

by | Feb 2, 2022 | Deception, New Life, Truth

“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12 ESV)

For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.” (Galatians 3:26 ESV)

There’s a song: “Hello My Name Is” sung by Matthew West. In the first verse it says, “hello my name is regret.” The next verse is “defeat”.

How many times has the devil whispered these things into your ear? Did you believe them? I hope not. But I have been there and I did believe them.

But the third verse of that song goes like this:

“Hello, my name is child
of the One true King.
I’ve been saved,
I’ve been changed,
I have been set free.
Amazing grace is the song I sing.
Hello, my name is child
of the One true King.”

That is what we should be believing. No more lies from the devil. Start telling yourself you are God’s child. I matter. I’m important. I’m part of God’s kingdom. And keep telling yourself that until you believe it and stop listening to the lies.

Satan is the king of lies. He tells us things to get us off track and away from God.

“I am no longer defined,
By all the wreckage behind.
The One who makes all things new,
Has proven it’s true.
Just take a look at my life.”

Hello My Name Is by Matthew West

Take a look at my life. I was a wreck just a few short years ago. But God took hold and started molding me into the person I am today. I don’t fold every time adversity comes my way. I stand strong in the face of storms. Truthfully, I never thought I could. But God proved to me that He has my back. So whatever lies the devil is telling you today, say “not today, satan”! I’m not believing your lies anymore.

“Hello, my name is child of the One true King!”

Have a blessed day.
