“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!” (Psalm 150:6 ESV)
Ever feel like your prayer isn’t going up? Feel like it’s bouncing off the ceiling? Me too.
I heard the song Alive and Breathing by Matt Maher on my way to church last night:
“Joy still comes in the morning.
Alive and Breathing by Matt Maher
Hope still walks with the hurting.
If you’re still alive and breathing,
Praise the Lord.
Don’t stop dancing and dreaming.
There’s still Good News worth repeating.
So lift your head and keep singing,
Praise the Lord.”
As long as you are alive and breathing, praise God. Praise Him when things are going good. Really praise Him in the bad times. We need Jesus all the time but especially in the bad times. When it seems your world is falling apart, start praising Him.
The song says there’s still good news worth repeating. That news is Jesus is coming back soon so be prepared. That news is Jesus loves us. He loves each and every one of us. That’s worth praising right there. So if you feel your prayers are bouncing off the ceiling, get to praising.
Praise is a weapon. The devil hates it, so all the more reason to start praising God. So no matter what is going on in your life, good or bad, praise God. Sing out! No where in the Bible does it say it has to be good, just joyful. So make a joyful noise to God right now. Praise those cares away.
