“When I thought, ‘My foot slips,’ your steadfast love, O Lord, helped me up. When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.” (Psalm 94:18-19 NKJ)
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28 NKJ)
Remember as a child you needed to be encouraged to take your first steps. Ok, maybe you don’t remember that. But you probably remember that you became brave with just a little encouragement. I know I did. I still do. I am basically a shy person. That is until I get to know you. But with just a little encouragement, I will be brave and do things out of my wheel house. I will attempt things I would not normally do.
One thing I did not need encouragement for was giving my life to Jesus. Once I finally realized I really needed Jesus in my life, I was all in. Jesus saved me from a lifetime of misery. Oh, I still have problems, but I am not the miserable wreck I used to be. Jesus pulled me out of the miry clay. My feet are firmly planted on the Rock. Things still come up, things still go wrong, but I have Jesus to cling to for safety and comfort.
I had a friend ask me yesterday why I never married. My answer was I haven’t found anyone worthy of me yet. But thinking about it now, I have found someone worthy; but am I worthy of His love?
The answer is yes. Once I gave my life to Jesus, I became worthy of His love. I became worthy to call Him my Savior.
It has been a rough weekend for me. But Jesus was here comforting me. He was here fighting back the thoughts the devil was bringing up. Jesus was fighting for me when I couldn’t do it on my own. So no matter what you are going through, no matter what battles you may be fighting, Jesus is there fighting with you. Turn to Him, lean on Him for strength. Rest in His arms. Jesus is there for you.
Have a blessed day.
