Step Up to a New Day

by | Sep 3, 2021 | Provision, Trials

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ, by grace you have been saved.” (Ephesians 2:4-5 NIV)

“Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.” (Luke 6:36 NIV)

While researching the theme I had for today, I was listening to music. But God had a different subject. The song, “Burn the Ships” came on. I recommend listening to the whole song. But here is part of it:

“Burn the ships, cut the ties
Send a flare into the night
Say a prayer, turn the tide
Dry your tears and wave goodbye.
Step into a new day
We can rise up from the dust and walk away
We can dance upon our heartache, yeah
So light a match, leave the past, burn the ships
And don’t you look back.”

Good advice if you ask me. As I was listening to it, I could see ships burning. God told me those are my problems burning away. I had sent a flare up in my prayers yesterday. God answered by showing me my ships/problems are burning.

He really does want us free. Free from all that keep us captive. It doesn’t matter what our captor is either. It could be health issues, finances, addictions or whatever. It doesn’t matter. God is ready, willing and able to set us free if we take the first step and ask him to.

So as I step into a new day, I ask for you to join me. Let’s walk into this new day and watch as God burns our ships and sets us free.

Have a blessed day everyone.
