Hold Onto Jesus

by | May 28, 2021 | Faith, Presence, Trust

“We love because he first loved us.” (1 John 4:19 ESV)

“So now faith, hope and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13 ESV)

I was sitting here last night trying to figure what to write about. I had a lot of ideas and tried to write one but it wouldn’t come. So I did what I always do. Go to YouTube for inspiration.

I love to listen to Mercyme. I heard this little song called Inhale/Exhale. The words to the entire song is below.

Verse:
“Whenever you feel afraid
The next time you find yourself scared
Just remember that fear
Has no power here, it has no control
‘Cause no chain can hold what’s already free
So hold on to Jesus and breathe”

Refrain:
“Inhale, exhale Inhale, exhale”

Yep. That’s the whole song. Short and to the point.

That’s how it is sometimes. Some of us tend to catch on quickly while a few of us tend to be a tad slower. But now is not the time to hesitate and wait. Now is the time to act.

There is so much fear in the world these days. Everywhere you look someone was killed, hurt or kidnapped. Fear has a way of creeping in when you least expect it and then it likes to hang around. It will even brings friends and try to bring you down. I have seen people crippled in fear. They won’t go anywhere after dark. Their doors are kept locked at all times and shades drawn. That, my friend, is no way to live. Take a stand right now against fear, anxiety, frustration and anger. Tell them to go. Take a stand against depression. They are all lies of the devil. You don’t have to live that way.

God wants us free, happy and healthy. So do your part, stand your ground.

Jesus is waiting, hold onto Him and breathe.
