How to have a Heart to Heart Friendship with Jesus Christ

by | Jan 6, 2017 | Relationship

In order to have a heart to heart friendship with Jesus Christ the Son of God, the Lord has to be the greatest love of your life and He has to be the Lord, Master and Saviour of your life because you must put God in first place before anyone or anything. Refuse false idols like worship singers in concerts, pop stars etc and don’t compromise in any way, as seen in Matthew 22:37-38 Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment.”
The way you think of yourself can be a barrier towards your relationship with Jesus Christ because you are a product of what you think. See Proverbs 23:7 “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”

Jesus Christ doesn’t want you to think of yourself in a negative manner and to be guilt ridden and believe that you are a terrible sinner all the time. First you need to repent of your sins and then remember that Jesus Christ has redeemed you and justified you, and there is no judgment for those in Jesus Christ. SeeJohn 5:24. If you sin against the Lord again, repent straightaway and let Jesus help you turn away from sin and become a new creation in Jesus Christ. Remember that God lives in your heart and his power is within you. See 1 John 4:4: “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

When you do that, you remove the barriers so that the Lord can fill you with his great love in order that you have this personal intimate relationship with him, so that you follow the Lord out of love for Him, rather than through fear of hell, but because you adore him, and want to have the greatest friendship in the world with your creator.

Jesus Christ wants you to be one with him as he is one with the Father so that he can take control of your life so that he can reign supremely in your heart, soul, spirit and body. John 17:2: “…that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us,…”

When you have that close friendship with Jesus, you know that the only way to God the Father is through Jesus Christ as seen in John 14:6King James Version (KJV) 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

People have been told that the only way to Jesus Christ is through Mary the Mother of Jesus Christ, but you can go directly to Jesus Christ. If you ask Mary and the Saints to intercede for you and never speak to Jesus directly, aren’t you showing him that you don’t trust him to answer your prayers and isn’t it making an idol of the Mary and the Saints? How then can you have a personal intimate relationship with the Lord by always passing through Mary and the Saints because you need to talk to the Lord heart to heart for that to happen?

Remember if you keep asking Mary and the Saints to intercede for you and if you never pray directly to Jesus Christ and show the Lord just how much you love him, you won’t have that wonderful close relationship with him. You need to offer your life to the Lord as a daily offering and to do everything for the Lord’s glory, so that you live for him. You need to do God’s Will rather than your own will because you hate sin and want to obey God’s Commandments out of love for him, rather than obligation See Matthew12:50: “For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.”

At times you just need silence in order to communicate heart to heart with the Lord, and remember that you are loved by God. See Jeremiah 31:3.

During your quiet time with the Lord, you can repeat a Bible verse from time to time, for example Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God; or tell Jesus Christ you adore him until your mind is quiet. Only let the Holy Spirit teach you the whole truth and lead you to obey Jesus Christ. See 1 John 2:27
