“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'” (Jeremiah 29:11)
I had felt like life is just one big series of closings. Dissolution of the corporation that year played out ever so slowly. Each email that came, each message or call seemed one more loose end to tie up with the goodbye package.
“Is it true?” I mused. “Is it all about endings?”
In a flash, Jer 29:11 popped into mind. I felt so relieved; it’s all okay, it’s good, it’s how it is supposed to be. Things move out, make way for something else. It is a fact of physics that two things cannot occupy one space simultaneously. So closings happen, creating space for
something new.
In the oft-quoted scripture verse above, we are reminded that God really does have a plan for us, and it is good. Today I’ll gratefully go with it, and go with God.
