  The First Gifts of Christmas A Poem

by | Oct 18, 2014 | Poems

God gave his Son, Mary gave her body,
Joseph gave his reputation.
The innkeeper gave the last space he had.
The shepherds gave adoration.

Jesus gave His place with the Father;
Took on the form of a Babe.
Swapped Heaven’s riches for earth’s privation
And in a manger was laid.

The angels sang a Heavenly chorus.
God’s glory lit up the sky!
Bethlehem slept deeply; never knowing
That the Promised One was nearby.

So many have given all they had
So that we the glad tidings might hear.
How can we do less than give Him our Best
And Keep CHRIST in Christmas this year?
