If not for God’s love and an old rugged cross,
Our souls forever would be lost.
These sins Christ washed, as white as snow,
Were all covered by the blood of His crimson flow.
We owe so much to God, above,
For His sweet grace and tender love.
He placed His son upon a tree,
To cover sin’s price for you and me.
Christ bore the stripes, the pain and scorn,
Until everlasting life was born.
There’s no greater love, it’s true,
Than the love Christ has for me and you.
He died for us so that we could be saved.
Then He conquered death, hell, and the grave.
Satan was beaten, dethroned, and down trod
By the blood of the Lamb and the sweet grace of God.
