  Heart of a Child A Poem

by | Oct 18, 2014 | Parenting, Poems

Sometimes, it isn’t enough, just to lay down the law;
It’s the practice of it yourself, which makes them understand it all.

It isn’t a word of criticism, or the hot lash of the tongue;
But an understanding heart, a willing spirit to teach, when day is done.

A little guiding here and there, a word or two of kind direction;
Letting a child know that they are loved, is the seed which is sown in perfection.

Not all the fancy gadgets, or the name on material things;
But Christly love and a witness, are what makes a child’s heart sing.
