Covered by the Blood

by | Oct 18, 2014 | Poems, Salvation

I dreamed I’d died and gone to heaven;

Saint Peter met me at the Pearly Gate.

He said, “I’ve received a message from the throne room,

And the Master says, “You’ll have to wait.”

He said that Jesus was reviewing

My whole life on compact disc,

To see if there were any sins

In my life that He might have missed.

About that time the Savior came

And said to Saint Peter, “Just let her in.”

We’ll review her life together,

In the screening room, by the den.

So, I followed Him to the projection room,

Where the the lights were dimly lit.

We sat down in front of a giant screen;

Then, He inserted the tiny disc.

My hands and knees were trembling

As I watched my life unfold

Upon this giant screen of heaven,

rom my birth until I was old.

I saw some things I was ashamed of;

I couldn’t deny what I had seen.

It was all ‘right there’ in colorama,

Upon heaven’s giant movie screen.

Jesus said, “Don’t cry, my child; all is forgiven.”

No one will ever see this tape.

I’ve marked it ‘covered by the Blood of the Lamb’,

And I’ll keep it hidden in my Father’s safe.

Just then, I awoke and looked around me,

With tears still falling from my face.

But, this time, they were tears of joy

Because all of my sins had been erased.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world,

That he gave his only begotten son,

So that whosoever believed on Him,

Would not perish but have Everlasting Life.
