  Be Thankful A Poem

by | Oct 18, 2014 | Poems

Be thankful if you have apparel,

And shoes to wear upon your feet.

Be grateful for your humble shelter,

And for the food you have to eat.

There are so many in this world,

That suffer, and have to do without.

The basic things we take for granted,

Like clean water from our water spout.

There are people all across this nation,

Who have no clothes, or shoes to wear.

No place to call home and are on starvation,

With their bodies weak and their cupboards bare.

So, if you have your basic needs,

Thank the Lord that you are blessed.

Give Him due thanks and daily praise,

Let His love and wisdom discern the rest.

He feeds the birds in the winter time,

And clothes the lilies in the spring.

He takes them in His loving arms,

And nurtures them beneath His wings.

1Timmothy:6:8

And having food and rainment

Let us be therewith content.
