Momma's Final Resting Place
I walked up to the casket, where my momma lay in state. These tears, that I'd been holding back, so long, just couldn't wait. I knew I'd lost my best friend as I gazed upon her face, But, I also knew that
Heaven would be her final resting place. Trying to be a good mother and an understanding wife. Four kids belonged to grandma; dad's mom, who'd passed away. She died when I was
four years old; from a heart attack, they say. While momma cooked, washed, and cleaned; trying to make the house look bright. She read the family Bible late at night, when the chores were done; Teaching us kids about
the Father and His only begotten son. Then finally, on down through the years, Alzheimer took her mind. But I know, as I stand here, looking down on mom once more, That the Lord is
surely waiting for her on that distant shore. And I know she's gone to Heaven, by that smile upon her face. So, momma, now, I'll dry my tears because 'this one thing I know', I'll meet you on that
Golden Shore; where all of God's children go.
