A Heavenly Place

Sometimes we pray, so reverently,

For a friend we want the Lord to heal -

Because we love them and our faith is strong.

But, it just may not be His will.

When the Lord seems to take His time

In answering, like we think He should,

That doesn't mean He hasn't heard us.

He's just working for their spiritual good.

Sometimes His answer isn't yes (but, no)

And it's a heartbreak that we must face.

But, we cannot question the motives of the Lord,

If He's ready to take them to a heavenly place.

He has plans to abolish all of their suffering

For a better home that's free from pain;

Give them a better place to go to,

Where there's always Sonshine and no more rain.

So, let us remember as we're praying

That His answer could be 'no'.

He has prepared a place where pain exists no more,

And a heavenly place for them to go.

Our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
